Anyone Else Just Dropped Their DC at Uni?

This is our first weekend without DD18 as we dropped her off at Uni for the first time earlier this week. She is a sensible girl and I know she'll be just fine once she is settled in and has made friends but I am really missing her today!

Trying really hard to give her some space and therefore am not messaging or calling her unless she contacts me first. We had a nice FaceTime call from her this morning and she is making friends and getting out and about so that all good.

I know she will be home again soon as we have flights booked for to come back for a long weekend at the end of October but I feel a little lost, like the 'end of era' type feeling.

Anyone else finding this stage hard?

I've done it three times. Its so hard isn't it?
Keep busy and you do adjust. Its so much easier if they are happy . One of mine had a tough time and that was very difficult, but we sorted it in the end. Take care x

Thanks @Colourcones definitely trying to keep busy and not wonder what she is doing every 5 minutes.

I'll get used to it, just early days in the adjustment phase I suppose.

I will be facing this next year and have done it once with Ds1 but they do soon make friends and usually have a fantastic time.
Ds3's girlfriend has gone today, they have been inseperable for 18 months and over the summer they have worked at the same place and spent every weekend together. Today he is very quiet and sad. She has chosen a Uni about as far away as you could go, so will not be easy to visit.
