He has not been found guilty In a court of law of any wrong doing and the woman who alleged he raped her has had any claims dismissed by the police.

But a proven tax evader for which he was fined €18 million.

He's the epitome of work ethic. Extraordinary.

In his early career yes it was talent but where he is now is purely down to mindset. That's a great example to young people.

The tax evasion element is actually indicative of how perceptions have shifted. Using tax evasion schemes was deemed 'normal' untill relatively recently. It's only very recently that there's been a shift in the super-rich that they SHOULD be paying tax.

He was 25-30 when this all happened and was just doing what Beckham did 🤷

Amazing debut, he’s a great player to watch. However, I do think they should cap the amount premiership clubs can spend on bringing players in. It would make a more even playing field and give smaller clubs a better opportunity to be competitive.

Anyone see Shearer’s reaction on MOTD re overall state of Newcastle FC? He was practically in tears re how they’ve been managed because of commercial reasons eg paying over the odds for mediocre players, not investing in youth etc. I’m obviously a United fan so love Steve Bruce but I did feel sorry for Shearer! We always wanted him at United (despite the songs ) but he was emotionally blackmailed in staying at Newcastle. Think of all the trophies you could have won!!!
