Great North Run - starting at the back

Anyone else started at the back of GNR before? Is there still plenty of crowd support or have they got bored and gone home (wouldn't blame them)

I'm doing GNR for the 5th time tomorrow and for reasons I won't go into I think I'm in the very last wave or possibly the penultimate one. I'm not the slowest person out there (certainly not the fastest) and usually finish anywhere 2 hours 30 - 2 hours 45.

I'm just worried that there will be no atmosphere anymore and that people will have left. I was looking forward to this year as it is an out and back which I enjoy as I like looking at the other side. There wont be anyone at the other side when our wave come back.

Has anyone else started at the back (or at least towards it anyway)? What was it like in terms of atmosphere and crowd support? I'm really hoping that it will still be as good as always.

In the smaller races people would have gone home and atmosphere gone. The GNR is different. There will be loads of people and it'll be fab no matter what your time is. Good luck.
