I had an amazing time gently lulling my child to sleep from 7pm-10pm. It was such a good bonding experience for both of us. We have both grown as a result.

Reality: bloody child won’t sleep Hmm

I love getting out into the fresh air, and hanging my beautiful linens on the line with my awesome #pegs from the supermarket. Saving the planet and allowing the locally sourced items to breathe in the sunshine and breeze.

I hung out the washing. It’s locally sourced as I’m currently living in lockdown.

Parttimemostofthetime · 11/09/2021 07:02

This morning I lovingly spent time sourcing a wholesome breakfast for my family. Lots of different whole grains followed by eggs laid fresh by our 4 happy chickens. Watching them all enjoy their breakfast and prepare themselves for the day makes me so happy

Reality: why wont they eat the same bloody breakfast, one has cornflakes, one porridge, one toast and eggs cooked two ways. Oh and the chickens have shit all.over the back step again

I love pretending I am filing a vlog while doing chores!! It helps inspire me to do them!! I pretend I am getting filmed for a 10 minute tidy up!!

I'm soooo into taking care of me and today I have done just that.
My mental health has had an amazing boost and it's given me the 'get real and close to Mother Nature' vibe that we all need, don't we huns?

( Got a flu jab and weeded my raised beds.)

Heyha · 11/09/2021 18:32

It feels so invigorating being outdoors, managing these natural resources, knowing that they'll be put to good use helping to feed my children in future.

Reality: shit shovelled my pony paddock and put in on the muckheap to dig into the veg patch over winter.

isseys4xmastinselcats · 11/09/2021 19:21

spent my early morning doing lovely household tasks before heading to making my workplace sparkle

reality got up late fed the cats gulped down a cup of tea, and went to my very mundane job as a restaurant cleaner

thatsnotmyzoo · 11/09/2021 19:26

You know, I remind myself that I must soak all this up, my children will never be this little again. Their little hands and rocking them to sleep. It really is the most magical time. Of course it’s hard too but so worth it.

Reality: Otto just twatted Octavia around the head with a large wooden moose and is now hanging precariously off the (kindly gifted) pikler triange. Said influencer is on her phone liking photos of people she doesn’t know who live in Bryon bay.

My sacred morning routine starts with self care. I allow myself to experience the feelings and sensations within my body following Mindfulness principles. This is followed by a morning bonding session with my family. We like to discuss our needs and aims for the day to ensure we are all off to the best start.

I start the day to the sound of my child shouting mummy, and try to take the time to fart and gulp some water before retrieving said child. Then we slob about in bed for a while, with the child demanding Peppa pig and toast.

CatNamedEaster · 18/09/2021 20:34

Loved putting together my carefully curated range of artisan foods for entertaining later on. Indulged in a bit of people watching while dreaming about the adventure I was just beginning.

Reality: went to Sainsbury's where meal plans went out the window due to a few things being out of stock. Road closed on the way back due to a crash so stared at arguing family in the car in front for 45 minutes.

PermanentTemporary · 18/09/2021 20:39

Today has been all about #familytime. I've been exploring #natural remedies and it's amazing how my son is starting to take an interest #thatsmyboy

Reality: we've both got Covid and spent the day slumped in front of the telly eating fruit toast and paracetamol and trying not to puke

bearlyactive · 18/09/2021 20:41

I got up at 5:45 and smiled. I thought "Great! Another day!". I went downstairs and had some vitamin-enriched cereal, then bounded out the door wondering what kind of positive impact I can make on someone's day today.

Reality: I got up at 5:45 and smiled at the fact that my alarm actually went off on time this time. I shovelled some Rice Krispies down and dragged myself out the door wondering who I'll accidentally piss off today Grin

RollWithThePunches · 18/09/2021 21:22

Started the day with some #mindful #meditation including reminders of how lucky I am to be surrounded by such a wonderful family #making memories.

Reality: got pissed with the girls, woke up holding my head and DH reminding me he held my hair up out of the toilet while I puked 40 times during the night.

Monimom · 18/09/2021 21:28

Rise and Shine! Trying our best to repurpose, recycle and teach our kids to be responsible consumers #embracingminimalism

Reality:Dragging grumpy, half-asleep kids and all our old tat to car boot, haggling over 20p for Uppsie Daisy whilst the kids spend the majority of the morning moaning and glued to phones... then schlepping 3/4 of our "stock" home again but not before spending most of the profits on sh*t coffee, warm Pepsi Max and yet another stuffed toy each #FML

Doodle2021 · 18/09/2021 21:31

Today has been about us as a couple taking our smart active rescue dog in a glorious wood. We bought a picnic from M&S while my dog frolicked in the sunshine. On the way home we popped into the organic doggie market where we purchased some organic grain free snacks for our beautiful pup. He then slept beautfully all the way home.

Reality: we walked our rescue dog in our local woods. He pissed up every tree and every sign he could possibly find and shat in the middle of the path. He tried desperately to maul three dogs as he hates every other dog on the planet. We bought sandwiches from M&S that we couldnt eat because of the flys.
On the way home we went to a dog superstore where, because he is a massive douche, he will only eat treats that cost in excess of £4 a pack and even then if he likes them in the store he may not like them at home. I have a whole cupboard of expensive treats that he liked until we got approximately 1 mile from home and will now just spit them out. He tipped over the water bowl out the front of the store and pissed on their outside sign. Then licked the window most of the way home and spent 10 minutes howling while i was trying to call my mum in the car.

Myfilterisbroken · 18/09/2021 21:32

I have had a marvellous afternoon hosting a playdate for two eight year olds, they played so well together #besties and were little angels. I fed them vegan, organic food for dinner which they wolfed down.

Had ds’s friend over, they were full of mischief! And left most of their burger and chips

VodselForDinner · 18/09/2021 21:36

Hi guys!

I just wanted to come on to tell you… ugh, I look so pale today!… that I’m spending the evening at home with Netflix and I’m just going to go in with a little bit of Disney Plus.

So blessed to be able to do this and couldn’t do it without all of your love and support. Thank you all so much for following along with me on this wild journey.

DameCelia · 18/09/2021 21:45

#givingback this evening, three hours of #servingmycommunity.
I feel fulfilled in the way you only can when you selflessly serve others. Spending time connecting with my community and sharing knowledge boosts my mental health in so many ways. Time spent learning new things and exploring how to #nourishyoungminds is such a #blessing.

Reality
Struggled to set up school governor meetings, nearly cried trying understand the latest bollocks from Ofsted, fought my way into the latest shit learning platform the LEA have foisted on us, sat through learning modules presented by a half wit, asked myself why I'm doing all this on a Saturday evening, remembering that it's because I have children and a full time job and avoided working out just how much the government is saving by all of this work being done for free by volunteers.

Phial · 19/09/2021 09:14

Enriching family learning today #soblessed #twoboys, teamwork and some #justus joy. Technology rocks as we learn in so many ways

Mainly shouting at my children to do their homework, failed to log in to two separate learning apps, said homework still undone

YouTubeAddict · 19/09/2021 11:12

Each room looks like something out of House Beautiful with gorgeous lighting and perfect accessories.

If you turned the camera around you’d see all the normal shit piled up in one corner looking shameful and sorry for itself 😂

TSSDNCOP · 19/09/2021 13:16

Here I am with the sounds of Sunday; birdsong, distant church bells, local children playing and laughing as they enjoy their games.

Reality: I just jumped out of my fucking skin for the umpteenth time this weekend (same as every weekend and every day of a National/school holiday) as the adults in the house next door scream at the screaming kids in the house next door. Every sound is drowned out by the screaming and shouting, and I'm actually beginning to wonder if I should step in and do something. My own child is hiding in his room actually doing homework to get some peace (not a brag) but he's just told me he's had enough of them too.
