Caterpillar?

Bizjustgotreal · 10/09/2021 16:49

It's a caterpillar

Elephant hawk moth?

Fergieburger · 10/09/2021 16:50

It’s a hawk moth caterpillar - freaked me out the first time I saw one but they are really quite fascinating. The markings on top look a bit like eyes. They love fuschias - unfortunately for me

Elephant hawk moth caterpillar, if I'm not mistaken. Good find Smile

Thanks everyone- he freaked me out a bit as he was headed indoors and his 'eyes' looked scary Grin

Wow...I am so jealous. Definitely elephant hawkmoth caterpillar. If you have any fuchsia in your garden or valerian please move it onto there

alsonotmyname · 10/09/2021 16:55

I have never seen a caterpillar so large! How fascinating- I'll shut the door and hope he finds his way

Ah wow I found one the other day. They are gorgeous 😍

alsonotmyname · 10/09/2021 17:00

I've just googled (now I'm not googling 'terrifying slug like thing with eyes') and they are indeed beautiful- what a gorgeous moth he is going to turn into
