Mosquito bites

My feet, ankles and legs have been mauled by mosquitoes. The itching is driving me insane. I'm trying not to itch them during the day but on a night when I'm asleep I keep waking up scratching them. I have a roll on thing for bites but it isn't really helping. My foot is a little swollen this morning as well.

Has anyone got any miracle creams or something that I can try to make the itching and burning stop?

Anti histamines are your friend

TheHuntingoftheSnark · 10/09/2021 07:22

Take an oral antihistamine as well as using cream.

Vicks
Have just come home from Barbados where the mosquitoes were horrendous we used Vicks on the bites during the day and took antihistamines before bed.
It was a local in the supermarket who suggested Vicks rather than any of the proper creams. Seemed to work well.

Piriton anti histamine from the chemist is great and anthisan cream (sp?) is also good.
Lavender cream is a nice, more natural, soothing cream if you have it.

I'll give the vicks a try. I've never heard of that before. I possibly have some lavender cream somewhere in a gift set I'll have gotten one Christmas!

I've found some Anthisan and applied some of that.

Oral antihistamines and hydrocortisone cream. Works better than antihistamine cream, it really is magic stuff. Only use it for a few days though, as continued use can thin your skin.

I have had the same and feel your pain! A friend cut some aloe Vera leaves for me and the relief was INSTANT.

Applying a hot spoon really works. (Look it up online.)

I use neurofen gel. Helps with swelling and itching.

I react badly to bites and have found that this helps take away the itch and swelling.
