Mutant daddy long legs the size of plate!

Left a bathroom window open by mistake and turned on the light and in it came making a buzzing sound.

I have a bad back so the scramble to close the window to prevent any more mutant monsters entering has now left me in a lot of pain but I was able to spray it with the Nippon fly spray which didn’t work on flies but does seem to have downed it behind a radiator.

It made an even louder buzzing noise!

Never seen one that big nor have I ever heard them make a noise.

Before all the don’t be cruel crowd jump in I have a phobia and am on my own until at least next week so I was very shook up.

The dog saw it but even he didn’t go to snap at it but just watched it!

Tomorrow I’m going to buy a hazmat suit!

Gross. You need to move, obvs.

It was like a face hugger.

It was me or him/her.

If I hadn’t killed it then I’m the night it would have attached itself to my face and laid its eggs down my throat.

I am worried that the buzzing was it communicating with it’s chums who will be waiting to swarm and kill me in the morning when I open my front doors to go out!

I used to live by a field that sloped down behind my house. Every year around this time the wind would blow them up onto the whole side of my house. I’d wake up in the morning and I’d have about 100 (no exaggeration) of them plastered to the back of my house. It was RANK. I am terrified of them! I swear they’re getting bigger too!

Had a bloody enormous one in our bathroom, last night. Never seen one like it.

I'm generally fine with arachnids and insects that don't sting or bite but I detest the sound that crane flies make. I gives me the chills.

Omg I hate them. The only bug I have a real phobia of, I cannot bear them. I am very impressed you haven’t burned your house down and also I feel vindicated because I SWEAR they are getting bigger year on year and my husband doesn’t believe me…

I sympathise.. once had a moth in the size of a vulcan bomber. I was wondering what eye casualty would think if i had turned up after the thing flew into my eye.... (seemed fine after I washed out my eye)

Don’t they say they’re the really venomous but too small to bite? Maybe that’s changing.
Agree they’re absolutely horrible! So unfair that during the warmest time of the year when you need the windows open they just think they can waltz in.

Crane flies don't have mouths so you don't need to worry about them biting you!

They're about as harmless as it gets.
