Child benefit paid this month

Just posting here for traffic so any help gratefully received Smile

Received my child benefit payment this Tuesday as I do every 4 weeks for 2 DDs.

Usually receive £140 and this month got £126.

Have googled briefly but just get gov.uk sites saying tell us if your child is continuing in education and sign in......

DD1 has just started sixth form, am I missing something? Is there something I should have done?

Just a weird amount to have received, £14 less than usual.

Have you informed them that DD is continuing in education? I had the same thing last year when DS turned 16. I phoned them and it was all sorted in 5 mins.

What age is 6th form? If its age 16+ then you need to tell them they're continuing in education

Yes. You should have received a form sometime during the spring of year 11 asking if your child was staying in full time non advanced education (6th form). If you didn’t return it they would have assumed they were going into work/apprentiship.

I was late sending mine in last year (blame a house move 2 weeks before the national lockdown) but I sent it during September and was paid virtually straight away.

Thankyou all, yes, 6th form is post 16 education. I didn't receive anything (never received her NI number either and that was a right palava to sort out) so will need to contact them.
