Is it legal to divide a shared driveway?

Our neighbours just can't park it drives us mad. They have huge bloody cars and park at an angle which makes it difficult for dh or myself to park on our drive and get out without needing to lose 3 stone.

We have a wall on our side and they have a green space so they could park much further over which would leave us all enough room. Instead it gets abandoned, even if one of us is parked they still park so bloody close.

Is it legal to put a chain link fence exactly in the middle?

What do the house deeds say?

Are there deeds/covenants/rental agreements (or whatever) for the property talking about access to the drive and what you can or can’t do to it? Impossible to answer your question otherwise.

Oops yes I need to check the deeds. Hopefully either we own it completely or it's a 50/50 ownership

Have you tried just saying that you're finding it hard getting in and out of the car and could they leave a bit more space?
They might not have realised the space isn't adequate if they haven't seen you getting in and out, presumably they're not having any trouble so may just be assuming that also leaves you enough space.
