If you were an important folder where would you hide?

DS came to me about 20 minutes ago to say that his folder with his art project inside it for school has disappeared from his shelf. He says he's looked around the rest of his room but I don't quite believe him on that one so he's looking again but I doubt we'll find it in there. So, where could it be?

I am always losing things. Thank God I don't have kids.... I would probably lose them too!

Pulled the sofa, bed and bookshelf away from the wall, found several socks, a pair of gloves, some juggling balls, an empty can of pringles and several other things but no folder. We found the paint he used for the art project in the cupboards in the bathroom. DS3 thinks he's seen it in the kitchen but can't remember when he saw it or whereabouts. As for the PE kit he's going with his younger brother's t shirt which is way too small and he's going to take his own jogging bottoms and hope nobody notices - they will absolutely notice but he's adamant it will work.

Oh no, when does he need it?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 09/09/2021 09:16

Oh no, when does he need it?

Right now would be my assumption.

Have you checked the recycling bin, OP?

FreezerBird · 09/09/2021 09:19

Is there a particular room or area he has assured you it definitely won't be?

If so, it's there.

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 09/09/2021 09:32

its fallen behind the radiator somewhere where it was propped up ready to be picked up! If you were in our house that would be where it is!!

SedentaryCat · 09/09/2021 09:58

Beside/behind the front door, ready to collect on the way out. Or possibly absentmindedly placed on my bed when she raids my makeup bag.

Under the rejected remains, offcuts, paints, randomness, etc, of frantically completed art homework on the desk. Regular occurance here.

SedentaryCat · 09/09/2021 09:59

(most likely not the make up bag for your DS, but has he been in your room)

endofthelinefinally · 09/09/2021 10:02

Down the side or back of bed/ desk/ chest of drawers. Pull everything out and see if it drops.
Look inside any similar sized books or folders.

SageRosemary · 09/09/2021 10:09

In the wardrobe, placed upright against the sides or back.

RockyTigerScarf · 09/09/2021 11:21

He needs the whole project for Monday but he was meant to take part of it in today for feedback from the teacher. He says he's got a photo of it to show her today but we still need to find the whole thing for Monday.

One of mine left his on the bus. Is he absolutely certain it is at home?

RockyTigerScarf · 09/09/2021 20:42

He says it's definitely at home. We've found two folders with other half finished projects in that the other DC either haven't handed in or got round to finishing and they were in the kitchen so I'm hoping DS's project turns up in here.

Any chance somebody has picked it up in error?

Seeingadistance · 10/09/2021 08:09

Under a cat?

RockyTigerScarf · 12/09/2021 22:46

And the project has been found! It was in the ironing basket, in the room DS said he'd checked twice Hmm

Found it earlier today when I went to do the ironing Grin

Ha! Brilliant. Grin

Lulu1919 · 13/09/2021 06:47

I'd take a drawer out of a unit and hide it on the floor and put drawer back
