Based on a tinned potato thread.

I really like M&S curry in a tin. So handy to have in. Also the tinned chilli with pitta, home made coleslaw and soured cream. Fabulous.

The Lidl Greek Week tins: butter beans, aubergines, dolmades.

Zarene · 08/09/2021 21:41

I'm usually a food snob.

But M&S tinned chicken in white sauce is amazing. I was so glad when lockdown eased and DH started having nights out again so I could eat it without judgement.

BarkingUpTheWrongRoseBush · 08/09/2021 21:43

I’m going to have to try the M&S chicken.

Marks and Spencer stew in a tin.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 08/09/2021 21:48

I am learning about a whole new world. I didn't think tinned food went much beyond soup and tinned veg. I want Greek Week!

LST · 08/09/2021 21:49

Marrowfat peas... Obvs!!

MegaClutterSlut · 08/09/2021 21:53

Me and dd like Asda chicken in white sauce. I add lots of garlic, onions, peas and sweetcorn and have it with pasta or rice

NorthernDramaLlama · 08/09/2021 22:00

Blatant placemarking! This thread could answer my meal plan needs :-) Looks like I need to head out to my local M and S food Hall!

Dadvdtret · 08/09/2021 22:02

Morrisons chicken curry tinned soup is a thing of lushness.

PolytheneRam · 08/09/2021 22:09

My comfort food is Heninz spag bol on toast. Wrong, but lovely.

PolytheneRam · 08/09/2021 22:09

Heinz

LagneyandCasey · 08/09/2021 22:10

Dh and I are rather partial to corned beef. We like it in sandwiches and in corned beef hash. The dc think it's gross!

Also love the M&S chunky chicken and chicken curry 😋

DriftGames · 08/09/2021 22:25

Stewed steak, of course.

Pearbear · 08/09/2021 22:27

Ooh the M&S hot lamb curry in a tin is delicious and saved me on many a night when I can’t be bothered to cook. It’s just like a takeaway curry.

Anystarinthesky · 08/09/2021 22:35

M & S tinned mushroom soup, I love it!

thetesdybears · 08/09/2021 22:41

M&S or Waitrose tinned tomato soup and the cream chicken soup.

Def need to be looking at more of the tinned stuff next time I'm in M&S 👍

PermanentTemporary · 08/09/2021 22:42

I like kidney beans in chilli sauce. I bung half a tin of those on some leaves for my packed lunch.

Also just discovered hot smoked mackerel fillets - Tesco finest, probably other brands are available.

PivotPivotPivottt · 08/09/2021 22:45

Heinz tomato soup
Heinz spaghetti and sausages

🤣🤣🤣

SlinkyBat · 08/09/2021 22:51

Decent sardines or hot smoked mackerel (as mentioned by a pp) in a tin can be lovely on hot buttered toast.

Otherwise, chick peas and evaporated milk!

Oh yes! I always keep tins of of marrowfat peas, new potatoes, and various beans in store. There are some unbelievable tinned fish from The Tinned Fish Market, especially their tinned squid stuffed with rice.

Thank you for putting that on my radar!

Keladrythesaviour · 08/09/2021 23:14

@SlinkyBat my pleasure! Not cheap, but great quality. Make great gifts too for hard to please people, I do my mom a hamper of stuff for Christmas.

Gingerkittykat · 08/09/2021 23:21

I tried the M and S tinned chicken curry after a previous thread here and it was really bland and horrible.

I loved tinned Heinz beans and sausages, either in a jacket potato or on toast with loads of cheese.

Greek week is amazing, I love the enormous feta filled spiral pastries from the freezer. I eyed up the tins last time but will defintely try some next time.

BarkingUpTheWrongRoseBush · 09/09/2021 13:54

The m and S lamb curry and beef curry are good. Good asa ready meal.

Tinned sardines preferably sardine picante from Waitrose heated up and stirred into spaghetti with parsley and lemon.
