Looking for that dream hotel....

So DH and I have been daydreaming about next summer holiday. The children (will be 11 and 9) have been chipping in with their requests too!
We want to go to Greece (mainland or island) and stay in a beautiful rustic hotel, simple but quality. Quiet but not isolated, easy to get to local restaurants (I'm thinking beautiful local food on the beach) and attractions. Right on the beach (watersports), preferably with a pool as well.
So, can anyone recommend anywhere they've been? I can almost picture it in my mind, but who knows if it exists?! Confused

Following with interest!

Do you want activities for the kids or proper peace and quiet?

They love swimming in the pool and playing in the sea but they've never been interested in kids club and entertainments, we all like hanging out together! Stuff like kayaking, paddleboarding in the sea would be awesome

rodakashotel.com/ on Santorini. We stay there between flights and ferries. Not much in the way of watersports but a lovely hotel and village.

Or www.3brothershotel.gr/ on Naxos. Right on the beach, close to a water sports centre, lots of restaurants and a fascinating island. My happy place.

(Sorry can't make links work)

The Ikos resorts might fit your brief. I wouldn't describe them as rustic though and they are AI.

Their sister hotels are the Sani group which are not AI.

Naxos is my families favourite island. It's a ferry hub and ferries are a cheap way to go island hopping. There's the most amazing ice cream stall too

Sani resort is amazing. Need deep pockets to go in school hols though. Also there’s nothing rustic about it but it meets the rest of your requirements

PeoplePleaserBe · 08/09/2021 22:16

Definitely Sani, without a doubt but echo everything PP says.

Pre-Covid halfboard for a 2 bed 2 bath seaview suite 7 nts, the rate was circa £9k excl flights.

But it was paradise.

Thank you everyone! I think I need to adjust our budget Grin
