We have hideous 'grained' lino in the kitchen. Supposed to look like wood. It doesn't! And because it is grained it is impossible to clean .. it never looks nice even when scrubbed as it's old and the grain is stained.
We are about to overhaul the kitchen a bit (DIY as dh is good at it) The kitchen in long ..about 23ft and fairly narrow but a nice light room. The units are white and worktop ... well we are still debating that.. I think it's the original 1980s one and it needs to go as chipped and ugly but still functional.
I just want a floor that I can go over with a mop and it will lift the dog paw prints, cat food (cat is a grim creature who likes to hook it out of the dish) on a daily basis without too much effort. The rest of the downstairs is Karndean oak type and looks lovely but I'm not sure it's sturdy enough for the spills in the kitchen/leaky dishwasher etc.
Tiles? Lino that looks like tiles? Any suggestions gratefully received! And colour.. what's better.. light or dark?
