Hi all,

We're starting to run an online clothing store and came up with a name. However, we're kinda unsure how customers will see it.

So it's Dapper Dove. Tell me what do you think?

P.S this clothing store will be consisting of graphic designs for families like matched tee (mom and daughter)

Appreciate your inputs!

Chavy men's store.

Rollerbird · 08/09/2021 12:16

Doesn't shout clothes or the matching element

Mariell · 08/09/2021 12:16

Towie.

loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:17

@DressBitch do you mean that name suits men store? Hmm

loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:18

@Rollerbird I kinda agree hence I'm asking for thoughts x

Dapper and Dove don’t really go together.

Give me your thoughts!
Mariell · 08/09/2021 12:20

Dapper Duck is more believable.

What's with the Hmm?

You asked for what it made up think of. I told you.

RonniePickering · 08/09/2021 12:21

I like alliteration and the word dapper, just not sure about dove. It would probably grow on me though.

ManifestDestinee · 08/09/2021 12:22

Dapper is a very male, very english, kind of word.

Mariell · 08/09/2021 12:23

I’m really not feeling ‘Dapper Dove’.

Give me your thoughts!
FazedNotPhased · 08/09/2021 12:24

I think it is hard to read - I initially read it as Dapper Dove as in 'I dove into the pool'.

I also think it sounds a bit...unclassy

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 08/09/2021 12:26

It sounds like a men's grooming product shop to me.

I definitely wouldn't think it was matching clothing for mums and daughters.

Mariell · 08/09/2021 12:27

The clothing isn’t going to be high end classic gentlemen’s clothing of tweed suits and silk shirts.

It’s going to be cheaply made, mass produced tat and the word dapper just isn’t suitable.

Dove Clothing sounds better.

SpamIAm · 08/09/2021 12:31

Agree with others that dapper is very male, and I think it describes a particular style which is not matching T-shirts. Doesn't work for me sorry.

inappropriateraspberry · 08/09/2021 12:32

Makes me think of hipsters with beards wearing braces and bow ties! Definitely not family clothing. Does it have to have a dove connection?

Aposterhasnoname · 08/09/2021 12:36

@Mariell

Dapper Duck is more believable.
Dapper duck is better
HummingBeeBox · 08/09/2021 12:39

I don't think dove works. Where did you get it from? Does it have some significance?

loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:40

@inappropriateraspberry no it doesn't have to be. It just crossed our mind.

Mariell · 08/09/2021 12:42

Op, are you in China?

Is Dapper Dove something you have translated?

loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:43

@HummingBeeBox my sister came up with name and thought hmm why not! But I wasn't fully resonated with me hence I'm asking for thoughts here lol

OP posts:
loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:43

@Mariell no I'm in London dear 😂

OP posts:
loveblueskys · 08/09/2021 12:45

Okay I see it's a BIG no no so definitely will not consider it!

Bouledeneige · 08/09/2021 13:44

What's the demographic - who's your market for the clothes? Work from that it terms if who you want to reach.

Dapper and Dove don't really work together. Sounds like clothes for a funeral.

Mariell · 08/09/2021 13:48

Suspicious use of the word dear.
