Passport renewal- how long did it take?

Just sent off for child passport renewal. Has anyone done one recently? How long did it take for passport to come back?

My online renewal took three weeks. Based in London.

A child to adult passport renewal for my DS came back in under 2 weeks.

My friend did his DC’s online as the passport office say that’s the quickest and is ‘up to five weeks’. It’s been over six weeks now and still at the ‘processing’ stage.

Wow. Seems very variable then!

It always takes longer around holiday time there was something in the news a few weeks ago or so about a backlog of people waiting for passports and you must remember they are not made in this country so they may have problems.

Also wondering in this, sent off child renewal last week when I wasn’t in any hurry but would now like to book something as travel restrictions eased!

Husband's took a week (it went to Durham) child's took just under 4 weeks (it went to Liverpool) Both just renewals.

3 weeks and it was a replacement and as I’m Resident in Portugal I had to send my damaged passport from here and they had to to send the replacement here.

Just under four weeks. Done online. Mine and two teenage children. The addresses I had to send the old ones back were Liverpool x 2 and Peterbourough even though I did them one after the other. Two back so far. My driving licence, in contrast was sent off on July 27th...still waiting!

Just jumping on the thread to ask how long your supporting documents took to come back once you'd received your new passport?
I paid extra for secure delivery.

Passport received after 4 weeks and 3 days.

@BunTooti, how long did it take for you to receive your supporting documents? I've received my new passport with two weeks but still waiting for my old passport back.
