Opened a letter last night that says they've decided I'm not entitled to any PIP.

I've been receiving the enhanced rates for daily and mobility for years.

I've never been able to work.

I've stayed up all night to write a letter and collect evidence only to be told it's taking them longer than the 10 week time line to reconsider despite it taking them 5 days to decide to remove all of my award.

I asked how I'm supposed to manage with £600+ removed.
I was told I can get a job as it isn't means-tested.

Unfuckingbelievable

@Booknooks Also, of course some people fill in their applications wrongly, answer questions wrongly in their assessments, etc, and as a result ... are not given the award which they ought to be given! How is that controversial even for one moment? Look at all the comments in this thread or any other on this topic exploring how such forms and assessments are designed to trick claimants! It's hardly surprising people are confused and try to provide information in ways that they believe to be helpful, when it may not really be.

If your mobility is very bad then if you haven’t done this yet ask for a referral to the enablement centre . They do prescribed wheelchairs and will fit you for the wheelchair that is best for your needs
If you have problems with your hands and back make sure you make them aware of this so you don’t get a wheelchair that you can push using your hands
Once you have this get a doctor to write a letter - confirming that you have a prescribed wheelchair from the enablement Center even if you have to pay for a letter from your doctor it’s worth it’s weight in Gold
One of the questions assessors always ask if you have mobility problems is “do you have a wheelchair and is it prescribed from the enablement Center or did you buy it yourself “ if arrive in a wheelchair they want to know if you bought it or it’s prescribed .

Honestly I’ve helped many friends and friends of friends with both ESA & PIP forms and all of them got the correct awards

The key thing to remember is it’s not about your illness it’s how it affects your ability to do stuff
It’s written down somewhere on the forms but so many people don’t get understand this vital bit of the form

Hey Op hope you getting over the shock and have an of action. One thing I’ve learnt is some do paperwork perfect and get no where there is element of luck that’s why system sucks. It certainly is failure on your part unless you literal did nothing on form. Like others have said even if do see you face to face there’s loads of totally made up things get away with saying.
