I want to get my daughter a new phone for Christmas and want to buy the phone only but pay monthly on 02. I already have a phone and contract with 02, can I get a second phone?

Yes, I have had more than one phone on my O2 contract. Just give them a ring

Evesgarden · 07/09/2021 21:26

I'm sure you can. Ive got a phone and two iPads with SIM cards in from 02

caughtinanet · 07/09/2021 21:28

Are you asking if a phone compnay will let you have more than one contract or somthing more complicated? If the former the answer is of course, why wouldn't they? If it's more than that I'd just phone and ask them how to do it

Cupcakegirl13 · 07/09/2021 21:34

Yea I have two with O2 on my account

Betsybanshee · 07/09/2021 21:35

Yes i have 5 contracts with 02 for myself and the DC.

contactornotthatisthequestion · 07/09/2021 21:36

yes, ask for a family plan as you get 20% off the air time (but not handset) i have 2 for my dds alongside my main one

Thatswhathappens · 07/09/2021 21:47

Thankyou all, yes it is as simple as just wanting another phone for dd but no sim card, but when I have just logged into my 02 account I couldn’t see an option! Thankyou all, will have a proper look tomorrow when I am less tired!

Do I understand correctly, you want a second (subsidised) handset from the provider but don't want to pay them for airtime ie a sim contract?
In this case the only way I can see to do it would be to upgrade your handset and pass the existing or hew phone to your daughter.

honeybuns007 · 08/09/2021 07:16

Do you mean you want a second phone on your existing sim? So 2 phones on the same sim with the same phone number? Or 2 phone with 2 separate numbers?

storminabuttercup · 08/09/2021 07:25

You wouldn't be able to take a phone without an air time contract. Why doesn't she need a sim?

Thatswhathappens · 08/09/2021 12:18

She doesn’t need a sim as she already has one, I want to pay monthly for a new phone for her.

Then you need to buy a phone on credit from a catalog or something. O2 don't sell like that

caughtinanet · 08/09/2021 18:29

What is the payment method for the current SIM? Do you still have an outstanding contract on that number?

You aren't confusing the number with the physical SIM card by any chance

They do. Dh bought a new phone, same sim. He was initially had monthly payments but the following week paid for it outright. More than one SIM with them gives a collective family discount too.
Thatswhathappens · 08/09/2021 19:13

O2 do pay monthly phones which you don’t need a SIM card for and your can pay for them monthly, she will be using her pay as you go sim in there!
I called 02 today and the answer is yes you can have a phone only and add it to my account!

While you're sorting out the phone it might be an idea to get a mostly SIM deal, they are so cheap adjust be better value than PAYG

I actually didn't know that was still a thing with SIM onlies for only a fiver a month.
