What happened to the Boris and Tory mania?

After a mammoth landslide general election win in 2019, Brexit delivered in 2020 and huge council gains in 2021 the Tory juggernaut was roaring on. Boris Johnson was political dynamite and could do no wrong.

Yet a few months later and there seems to be many dragging him down. It started with delaying the reopening by a month in June (which was sensible) and now he's got everyone on his back for raising taxes to pay for social care (it has to be funded somehow).

Why won't people get back behind the government during what's a national crisis with the pandemic? He is doing his best. Not like Labour have anything to offer.

Hahahahaha

midsomermurderess · 07/09/2021 19:58

Because he and his cabinet are incompetent, lazy, venal and corrupt.

He is doing hisbest.

Just a shake that his "best" is what can only be described as "bumbling cunt". Why do people think "he's doing his best?" is a valid argument for why he's a good PM? He's the leader of the country not a four year old trying to colour inside the lines. Trying his best doesn't come into it, he's a fucking adult who should act with some professionalism, some integrity, and some bloody competence.

Ok now I know you're trolling. Run along 🙄
Clocktopus · 07/09/2021 20:07

He managed to get elected by convincing a lot of people that he's their mate Boris, someone they could have a pint with, who has their best interests at heart, Bozza their pal who wants to cut through all the bullshit and just get the job done.

A lot of those people are now realising that their mate Boris wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire and that, if he did call for help, he'd charge them for the privilege.

LST · 07/09/2021 20:07

Dear god. You need to ask?

Someone’s on a wind up.

Now. Let me think OP - do we have a general election? What’s that you say? “No”?

No.

So it’s pointless talking about Labour because they’re not in power and without an election, they’ve no chance of getting into power.

So we are all welcome to criticise the shit government of the day.

As for “Boris is doing his best”. Well yes, he is but it just is not fucking good enough.

He’s a proven liar, he’s a clown, an embarrassment. Awful awful Prime Minister.

BananaPB · 07/09/2021 20:09

C'mon Hancock jumped.

If he wants his supporters to get behind him, he needs more policy ideas than getting Brexit done because that's been signed.

megletthesecond · 07/09/2021 20:09

Many people won't be paying any attention now, mid-term. He'll dangle some goodies 3 months before the next election and they'll forget what an idiot he is and he'll get in again. It's just a game to Johnson.
i always thought he was a lying cunt.

SheWoreYellow · 07/09/2021 20:11

Is a majority of 80 a landslide? It’s way off the 170 odd that Tony Blair got twice.

Well Farage cost him a lot of seats. He'd have won a lot more otherwise.

Patapouf · 07/09/2021 21:12

It so, fuck off with your boris propaganda

SunShinesBrightly · 07/09/2021 21:18

Did he now?
Nice try OP!

irresistibleoverwhelm · 07/09/2021 21:20

Priti, is that you…?

AlvinSimonTheo · 07/09/2021 21:22

Political dynamite 🤣🤣
Good one

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 07/09/2021 21:23

I would say the racism, homophobia, misogyny and pathological lying, but that seemed to be why his supporters liked him in the first place...

Summerhillsquare · 07/09/2021 21:23

What happened? 130 thousand deaths ring any bells?

countrygirl99 · 08/09/2021 05:52

@irresistibleoverwhelm

Priti, is that you…?
I think it's Boris getting desperate.
MiaRoma · 08/09/2021 05:57

I reckon it's Carrie

PieMistee · 08/09/2021 06:04

The man has absolutely no integrity, is incompetent, self serving, racist, classist, sexist and has sadly caused us to have one of worse death rates in the whole of Europe. Mind you I can't understand why anyone would ever vote for him unless they were a either similar or a bit thick.

ShintyFartMuscle · 08/09/2021 06:12

The wealth of UK billionaires increased by £106 500 000 000 in the pandemic.

He doesn’t care about normal people, never has. It just seems that some people are starting to realise that now

What happened to the Boris and Tory mania?
Unescorted · 08/09/2021 06:18

Carrie are you concerned that you will have to move out of the newly refurbed flat?

Volterra · 08/09/2021 06:21

Maybe the simple answer is people realised they were duped by the whole Boris Mania? My Dad is no longer on side so it must be goimg badly.
