Keeping kids school stuff organised

DS has various folders for each subject like zip pocket ones. He is currently scattering them in the kitchen and dining room as he packs and unpacks his bag Angry. He doesn't want to keep them in his room as he does his homework downstairs.

Any ideas for how to keep them tidy? I have a kallax and was going to allocate a shelf and was looking for dividers so there could be a slot for each subject but I can't find narrow ones. I don't want them in a pile that's constantly moved about.

Can't the folders just go in the kallax propped up with a book end or a heavy item?

My DS has a pile on the corner of the table and just retrieves the ones he needs each day.

Kallax is great. I have the doors on mine so they stay upright.

Hanging storage like this

How about this ?

Alternatively, one folder only for all paperwork going to and from school, and then it gets stuck in exercise books?

That hanging thing looks good. He has a separate folder for each subject with workbooks / textbooks in them. But they're not still files so they don't stand up. They're pouches. Want to avoid a pile on the table!!
