Utterly exhausted

I'm 49.

Always had a dip of energy on first two days of period.

Now, for two days before and first two days of my period, I am utterly floored. Beyond tired. Can barely face getting out of bed.

My cycles appear to be getting longer so perhaps the end is in sight.

Are there any remedies or pick me ups you can recommend? I can't be out of action for four days every month / five week.

When I was perimenopausal I was severely anaemic. If you haven't had your Hb and ferritin checked, you should try and get that done. Of course, how easy that will be with the current shortage of tubes (it is the chemical solutions that go in the tubes) is anyone's guess.

But if I were anaemic, would I not feel like this all the time?

Plus suddenly immensely heavy periods.

No helpful suggestions but feel your pain. I track my cycle. When I know it's en route I reduce exercise. Keep to do list to absolute minimal essentials. Eat lots of fish and go to bed early. Manage rather then cure it.

I find taking a magnesium supplement helps me.
