Ring around spider bite

Ds was bitten by what appears to be a spider a few days ago. We put iodine on it and antihistamine cream because it was very itchy.

It seems to have healed, but there is now a ring around the bite. Ds says it's very itchy.

Do you suppose this needs looking at?

Are you sure it was a spider? Bullseye ring round it sounds like a tick bite. As someone who has had Lymes disease I would definitely get it looked at soon

I wouldn't assume spider. Draw a ring around the red and get him down to a pharmacy. Are you in a Lyme area?

I'd get him to a GP for antibiotics. That does look like a tic bite.

Ticks are a form of arachnid so related to spiders, so can imagine the two things could present similarly. For what it’s worth I was bitten by ticks a few years ago and got them out within a few hours. The itching was phenomenal. I’d agree with PP that you want to get that looked at for Lyme’s.
