Nursery waiting list

Hi guys!

I’m wondering if anyone can help me out here please. I have registered my son to a nursery for his 2 year old funded sessions. At the time of registration I was told there is a 4-6 week waiting list.

Now can someone please explain what the process is behind a waiting list? Once the 4-6 weeks has passed then what? Will he be offered a place?

I know it sounds like a daft question but I’m clueless and a FTM.

thanks in advance

At the moment they do not have the space to accomidate your child, in 4 to 6 weeks any number of things may have changed for the setting to mean that they will be able to. Other children may be moving to different rooms as they reach the age for the next ratio braket, new staff maybe starting or retuning from maternity leave. These things are maticulously planned, ours are projected until next summer at the moment for oldest age group. It sounds like room move or enough children aging into the higher ratio. It may also be that they have had lots of new starters and are opporating with a lower ratio while they settle.

Have you agreed potential sessions yet?
