Unwell baby refusing to be put down

I need moral support. I have a nearly nine month old bundle of writhing, squirming, crying and fighting.

I’m exhausted. Put him down and the world ends. And I need the loo.

Put him in the cot, it is safe there. Go and do your business, yes he may wail, oh dear, never mind, Mummy back soon.

Then after - try an early bath as distraction, and/or a trot out in the pushchair, go buy an ice lolly for him to mumble on.

Do you have or can you borrow a sling? Then you can get on hands free including using the toilet and baby is still comforted. And remember, this too shall pass.

He won’t go in a sling, he’s got a raging temperature. My arm is going to break at this rate.

It's hard but you'll just have put him screaming in the cot whilst you get on with things.

At least whilst he's crying you know he's actually ok if you're in another room. It's when he goes quiet you need to keep checking more often if he's ill.

I had a large sofa cushion I'd plump into shape and place my DS on as it felt to him like he was lying on me m. It was great x
