What do you use as a substitute for smoking?

I quit smoking a couple of months ago. (Not the first time). I’ve quit and started again multiple times over the years.
Cut down to a couple a day from around 15-20 a day for a week or so and then cold turkey and I found it fairly easy.

I’ve gained weight since then though and I’m now dieting and craving a cigarette SO much! How can I stop myself from craving so much?!
I know I can’t smoke if I don’t buy them but I’m so tempted!

I'd let yourself have food treats for a few more months tbh. Just try and spread them out. When I quit smoking I rediscovered my taste buds so everything tasted good! It wears off and balances out though. Not sure that's is what you wanted, well done tho.

More caffeinated drinks and chewing gum a lot more. Other than that you could always get a vape.

Swimming!

I started swimming every day. You know when you drink orange juice after brushing your teeth? Well, the chlorine has the same effect on smoking. It just tastes horrible.

Vape

Vape here too. It'll be two years on October 5th since I stopped smoking. Started vaping at 20mg strength, am now down to practically zero, as in I forget whether I've added any nicotine to the liquid when I top up the vape. I still enjoy the flavours and the 'something to do with your hands' aspect of it though. I'm so happy to not smoke anymore, well worth every bit of effort!

I really can’t continue to let myself have food treats. I’ve gained allot of weight over lockdown and beyond and I cannot continue to gain.
I had to cut down on caffeine as I was getting through just as many strong coffees a day so I’m now down to maybe 2 or 3 a day. They make me want to smoke at the moment though as I regularly paired a cigarette with a coffee!
Gum is good, I chew allot!
No time for swimming unfortunately. Pretty much all of my time is accounted for.
I’ve tried vaping but I just don’t like it very much plus I worry about the effects of vaping on my lungs…. More than I did with cigarettes bizarrely?!
