Happy Birthday Cake
I don't really do anything, it's acknowledged by my family and I receive cards but I don't go out for dinner or drinks.

Happy birthday!

My birthday is in the arse end of January so no, I don't usually do anything. If it was today and I had half a day off work, I'd stick some snacks in a bag and go for a wander somewhere in the nearby countryside and sit and eat my snacks in peace and enjoy the views.

passionfruitpizza · 06/09/2021 11:10

No, don't really care about birthdays.

Sleepyquest · 06/09/2021 11:16

Take yourself out for lunch! Maybe go window shopping, a nice walk in the park.

trevthecat · 06/09/2021 11:21

It's my birthday this week, dh is working away but cooked me my favourite dinner and it's in the freezer for the big day! I'm going to do a bit of shopping, have tea, nice bath and TV in bed!

It was my birthday yesterday, I ate two apple donuts for breakfast at 5am as my dopey husband forgot to turn off his work alarm....Sigh....he then fell back asleep but I was awake. So I read a book whilst eating my donuts. Then at 8am I woke him up as it was a nice morning and told him he was taking me for a walk at the coast for a long walk and Ice-Cream (I have serious sweet tooth Smile).

Walk was lovely, beach was deserted and the ice-cream was huge and delicious. The rest of the day was spent watching movies and eating cake and sweets.

It's nice to do something just for you.

Have a great day and Happy Birthday

No. Kids are old enough to cook me a meal, or we get a takeaway. Not fussed really.

Divebar2021 · 06/09/2021 11:36

I always do something for my birthday…. DH and I always take leave if it’s a work day and we always make each other a cake. This year we went to a posh restaurant for lunch for mine then came back for ( lemon) cake and Netflix. His birthday on Saturday we went to the cinema and then had Five Guys Burgers and home for ( Chocolate & Pistachio) cake. He got lucky because I booked him tickets for an American car day yesterday and we went for a posh breakfast beforehand so double celebrations. If I was on my own I’d go for breakfast or coffee, mooch around a book shop, and do something I don’t do often like get my nails done or a massage.

Divebar2021 · 06/09/2021 11:37

Happy Birthday by the way… for my 50th last year it was fish n chips on the beach at Whitstable ( I’m very food based 😃)

CMOTDibbler · 06/09/2021 11:40

We have a takeaway and cake. I'll get a card from dh and the dogs, and thats it for celebrations

SirenSays · 06/09/2021 11:44

Happy birthday!! 🎉 Mine is coming up soon too. I always try to do something for it, but I'm big on holidays and celebrations 🎈
This year I'm going out for sushi at one of my favourite restaurants and going to the outdoor cinema with some friends. I'm going shopping with my cousins and throwing a small party at the weekend 🍾

Ted27 · 06/09/2021 11:55

yes I do. I can usually book the day of work. What I do depends on the day of the week, who is around, whats happening generally.

I might just have a lazy day, go the allotment, gym, have lunch out by myself in peace.

This year I had breakfast with friends, went out for dinner with my son and then we went to a Fire Garden event.

possibleimpossible · 06/09/2021 11:56

I used to do something to celebrate when I was younger, go out for drinks with friends etc, but now I'm older with a DD and DH works away it's just another day.
Me and DH might get a celebratory takeaway if he was home.

possibleimpossible · 06/09/2021 11:57

Happy birthday btw! Treat yourself to a nice lunch or coffee and cake Smile

ThePoint678 · 06/09/2021 11:58

No I don’t. But happy birthday!

BikeRunSki · 06/09/2021 12:09

My last 5 birthdays have either been in lockdown or I’ve been called into work overnight as emergency relief. So I’m really looking forward to do something next time!

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 06/09/2021 12:13

No, I actively don’t do anything for my birthday. I hate it and try to ignore it as much as possible.

People get cross with me but I care not. No partner or kids to appease by pretending to like the day. I tell people ‘if you want me to have a day that makes me happy, please let me do what I want. Which is nothing’.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 06/09/2021 12:21

yes, absolutely. It's not always a big song and dance, and if it's a workday I'll still go in, but I have either a takeaway or dinner out. I also buy myself a small something like a paperback or some good bubble bath, in case I get no/late/rubbish presents. Never happened yet but you can't be too careful Grin.

BillyJoe111 · 06/09/2021 12:24

Never! I did once when I was 25, I had a small group of friends then from ds playgroup and we all went out for a pub lunch and spent the day drinking afterwards, it was wonderful. I moved away the next year solar touch. That was 16 years ago, not done anything before or since!
