feeling like we are the last in the country to go back and I've had I've had enough of the summer. They are going to be as bored as hell the next 3 days as all their friends have gone back already. (they are going to school in the next town as no places locally)

Mine doesn't start until Monday so you're definitely not the last! It's a nightmare for childcare.

At least the weather is going to be lovely! But I hear you...I had quite enough of the summer holidays this year. They were barely in school anyway this year so quite honestly we weren't massively in need of the six week break.

Ours don’t go back until Thursday- would have been Wednesday but they have to go in for lateral flow test at an allotted time on Wednesday instead.

One of mine is supposed to be back on Friday but won’t be because she has COVID 😒

Sorry to be chirpy, but doesn't that mean the park/theme park/beach whatever will be a million times quieter & you can have a day out without standing for 2h in a queue for a 30 second ride (I'm looking at YOU Legoland Angry )?

I have a couple of friends who live in the next town and their children are not back until the 17th!

YerAWizardHarry · 06/09/2021 11:23

Ours have been back for 3 weeks already! Must be such a short term up to Christmas for you

idontlikealdi · 06/09/2021 11:33

Mine have gone back but it's to make up forbyhe fact that we have now switched to a two week half term in October. Those that haven't gone back are you on one week half term?

We better not be.

At the DTs school they always have an orientation day for year 7 and year 12s on the first day - all other years back tomorrow.
(although last year the 7s had 2 days because they had no moving up days in the summer term)

Mine have been off since 10th July! We moved house and as they start today here, i could only apply today, so have a few more weeks of them home. Confused Shock

My youngest finished on the 2nd July and her sister 2 weeks later!

I love having them home but work is getting increasingly demanding about returning to the office now everyone else is back in.

We have a 2 week half term too in 6 weeks time!
