I’m all out of ideas.

All he wants to do is to go out for his first drink with some mates in the evening.

We’re thinking of going out for a meal in the day.

We went to a really fancy restaurant for my brother and he loved the 8 course tasting menu. I know that's not for everyone but he liked it!

Dinner up the Shard

I was a quiet, non partying 18 year old. Newcastle University kindly invited my for an interview on my 18th. From south London!! So DM drive me to kings cross for the first train, I spent the day talking about Physics, and I got the train home. No pressure to socialise, and I love long distance train travel.

Went to the theatre with immediate family at the weekend.

Would he enjoy an escape room with family or some friends maybe?

Not the same as I'm an adult but I am not very party loving at all, and for a recent significant birthday I spread activities out over a few weeks eg a couple of friends over one day, a concert a week after, meal with family at home on another day.
It reduced the level of overwhelm.

For my actual 18th there was a v geeky thing I inflicted on my family, and a night out with friends.

Thanks for the ideas. It’s so hard to think of something when they say they aren’t bothered but you wonder if they are.😬
