Why does it not taste like the Easter eggs? Is it my imagination, or is the chocolate different?

Cadbury Easter eggs are next level delicious but there’s something not quite right with the bars. Is it just me?

I'm not sure.

But in the name of science I'm willing to undertake extensive taste testing and come back after easter with my findings and a gofund me for slimming world fees

Crapburys chocolate is all horrible these days. I wish they would bring back the real stuff with the proper recipe.

I actually think the Easter eggs don't taste that nice any more - they always taste like they've been sitting next to something else and taken on the flavour. I suspect it's because they used to be encased in plastic.

I'm sure there have been threads on Cadbury's before. They've changed how they make it and it now tastes "gritty" - especially Twirls.

Benefit is it's stopped me eating as much chocolate!

There have been lots of threads over the years, about how disappointing Cadburys chocolate is these days

Cadbury’s was taken over by Kraft.

Never been the same since.

It's not been the same since they sold the factory in the town where I live and sold it to developers.
I miss being able to smell chocolate in the air too.

Does no one in Cadbury's read any feedback?

It's because of the soya they added, and then the palm oil. Greasy, nasty taste now.

As pp says- far better for my health now I no longer buy it.

I bought some dark milk today for covering a cake. I usually avoid Cadbury chocolate due to the palm/Shea fat they use but this was all they had in coop. Turns out they actually use cocoa butter for dark milk. Doesn’t taste nasty like dairy milk.

Otoh caramilk is like sweetened pus.

Yes, it’s really not great. I think I’ll stop buying it, I thought it was just me. Any other chocolate recommendations? Maybe I’ll try Aldi’s own brand as that’s where I shop.

I like the Moser Roth packs of 5 small bars and the choceur little packs of dark chocolate.

Much better than Cadbury's now, sadly. Cadbury family did so much for society, and for their employees, as well as making such lovely chocolate for so many years. The chocolate sold in their name is nothing like Cadbury chocolate was.

Galaxy is even worse than Cadbury's these days. Way too sickly.

The Easter eggs were horrible this year... tasteless and greasy not velvety and chocolatey at all. Bleurgh!
