Hourly rate for teenage babysitter

Hi All,
I was wondering what you pay your teenager babysitters per hour please? Our neighbour's daughter is happy to babysit for my 5 and 7 year old but I don't know what the going rate is.

Here in SE London my nearly 17-yr-old receives between £7 and £10 per hour - it depends how much active childcare has to be done really.

Id ask her what she charges.

If you search this topic you'll see it's a almost monthly thread. You'll get a range if answers from £1.50ph.(and they should be greatful for that) to £25 oh. Ask the babysitter what they charge.

I've always known it to be £5 an hour as anything over £8.50 is professional rates as its national minimum wage.

It's normal here to be £5 an hour for up to 2 kids then a further £5 per hour for every 2 kids after that.
