What type of flower is this?

I've just found a pretty flower with a purple and white checkerboard pattern on it under one of my trees. Does anyone know what it is?

Colchicum (autumn crocus).

Yes, looks like an autumn crocus to me too.

agree. it's very pretty but poisonous
