Any ideas for passing the time in isolation?

I’m single and live alone in a teeny flat, and I’m going crazy!

My only symptoms are loss of taste and smell, so I’m really lucky, but also completely off food- baking out. Also can’t eat it all myself.

I’ve been reading and trying to do yoga but the days are really dragging.

Binge watch something mindlessly entertaining like Below Deck. Daydream about being uber-rich and having your every whim catered to.

Tooembarrassingtomention · 04/09/2021 21:47

Can you WFH?

bellalou1234 · 04/09/2021 21:49

Not tomorrow, which is why I’m slightly dreading it. I’m so cooped up I can’t even enjoy the mindless TV!

Get yourself a Puzzler logic problems magazine. It's my favourite, I'm 34 Blush

Take up some crafty hobby. Buy some yarn and learn to knit. Or an embroidery kit. Or a sketch book and pencils...

BertieBotts · 04/09/2021 22:07

Do you have a computer? Buy a copy of civilisation 6 or rimworld.

Puzzle book sounds good. Intrigued by embroidery…

@TheCanyon I came to suggest this too 🤣 I’m 31 😅 always buy one for my holiday and sit and do it on the plane while DH sleeps 🤣

@DrawnOnEyebrows I agree with something crafty - anything you could make for Christmas? I made my own wreaths the year before last and loved it 😊 currently looking at the wooden advent calendars that you can paint yourself - would be a great isolation project 👍🏻

Adult colouring book saved me

TheCanyon · 04/09/2021 22:21

@RossIsTheBestFriend they don't sell them in our town so only got one every few months. My dm asked what I wanted for my 30th birthday and I asked for a subscription. Was my favourite thing to do while my dts napped

Don't suppose you like crocheting? I bought my dts toy story crochet teddies 2 fecking years ago, I can knit, cross stitch etc, but by fuck do I not get crochet instructions. My poor kids know I have them and ask all the time when I'll do them Blush

I taught myself to crochet watching videos on YouTube - Bella Coco is a good one.
Merlin on Netflix is good to binge watch. I also like YouTube videos of train journeys!

Clean and clear out every cupboard you have?

I would love a self-isolation stint.
Got so many half-finished DIY projects on the go!

Guineapigbridge · 05/09/2021 18:57

Scrabble on the iPad?
An epic city- or civilisation-building game, I see someone else has suggested that already.

NeverSurrender · 05/09/2021 19:03

Teach yourself to crochet by watching videos on YouTube. Bella Coco is the one I used. You can buy some hooks like these on Amazon,

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crochet-Aluminium-Knitting-Locking-Markers/dp/B07TDLK5W3/ref=mpssa114?dchild=1&keywords=crochet+hook&qid=1630864855&sr=8-4

and some cheap wool for practicing-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hayfield-Bonus-DK-Double-Knitting/dp/B004MXQMLM/ref=mpssa119?dchild=1&keywords=yarn&qid=1630864903&sr=8-9

And you'll be away! Honestly, the hours just disappear when crocheting !

Future learn? Lots of (short) courses for free - I love the language introductiory courses.
