What do your cleaners do?

I’m considering getting a cleaner.
I try hard to keep on top of it and in the most part, the basics, I do. It’s the jobs like wiping skirting boards, cleaning the kitchen cupboard fronts, tiles, the oven, windows, hovering the stairs (I have a Eufy for rooms) real good bathroom clean etc.
Do cleaners do these things or are they more for the day to day jobs?
I’m just looking at my kitchen and the kick boards look hideous 😳

Cleaners are usually self employed, and it is up to them what they will / won't do.
IME, most will do what the person employing them wants them to do within reason.
I'd say bathroom cleans are the 'bread and butter' of most domestic cleaners work. Smile

My cleaner does all of the above except oven cleaning. However, she would be happy to if I specifically requested it one week.

My cleaner does the more day to day cleaning (well fortnightly but I'm a slattern). Which means when I notice the skirting boards or lampshades are filthy then I don't mind doing a thorough job of cleaning them.

Today I cleaned the dishwasher and admired its shiny squeakyness for the rest of the day.

Mind does whatever I ask really. So ‘the usual’ each week- kitchen, downstairs floors, main bathroom, utility and downstairs toilet plus something else eg patio windows/skirtings in hall/kick boards…

Mine usually does a ‘deep clean’ twice a year when we are on a 2 week holiday, she does the deep clean the first week and then comes and does the regular clean during the second week.
During the deep cleans she does all the skirting boards, window frames inside, cleans out the fridge (to be fair I do this myself every week anyway but she usually spends 4 hours a week here and I think she’s just making up the time during the deep clean week), the inside of the oven (we get the oven cleaning company in twice a year usually too but she does a good job!), can’t think what else.
During the general weekly cleans she hoovers and polishes all the bedrooms, makes the beds up like hotel beds, empties any bins we’ve forgotten to, general bedroom cleaning, cleans all bathrooms and toilets, empties out the fireplace when it needs doing if we haven’t done it beforehand, steams and mops throughout the hard floors downstairs, hoovers the 2 flights of stairs and 3 landings, wipes down all kitchen cupboard door fronts, wipes down the legs of the chrome bar stools, folds blankets nicely, shines the hob, leaves all dirty cloths she uses soaking in cleaner the utility sink so they’re not stinky when I get home, basically she’s Mary Poppins and I’d be a weeping wreck if she ever left me Grin
Worth her weight in gold and I’d suggest to absolutely anyone who can afford it to find someone similar. She’s like a part of our family, I love it in school holidays when I actually get to see her and speak to her, she’s bloody lovely.
After her first week of being with us I never had to ask her to do anything specific, she’s so intuitive and sees what needs doing and gets on with it. I think she’s been with us 6 years and she came highly recommended from a friend. It took a while before she had space to fit us in but I’m glad we waited for her!!
If it sounds like I’m in love with her it’s because I am, she improves our quality of life drastically.

Everything I don't want to do. Worth their weight in gold,

Couldn’t do without her. She does all the basic cleaning. We strip our king size bed and she makes it. She is here for four hours. Will do extra jobs if asked such as cleaning oven. House is generally always clean with no mad panic if visitors are due which I used to hate.

This sounds awesome. I’m going to look into this tomorrow.
Thanks all
