How to get the most out of one night away

Hi I'm heading away for one night with dh for our wedding anniversary. We are going to a hotel with a spa and a nice restaurant.

What is the best way to get the most out of this break since we can't check in until 4pm?
Normally we enjoy spa treatments and room service because neither of us can be bothered to dress up and sit in a restaurant after lazing about all afternoon but this time I'd like to go to the restaurant and have a few drinks however it is a requirement to dress up and that would also mean spending two hours blow drying my thick frizzy hair after been at the spa/pool area. Do we try arrive before check in and go to the spa or do we wait and go to the spa the day of check out.
Probably seems like a silly question but would love some insight. Thanks

We went to a spa hotel last month we got there about 5 chilled out for an hour in the room went the spa bout 6.30 . At 8 we went out for drinks then took a takeaway back to the room about 11. Next day we had a nice lunch out and a walk round the city. We were only gone 24 hours but it was a lovely child/puppy free time 😀 enjoy !

I would probably get something to eat in the restaurant and go for a walk before check in I think.

Hairdresser before you set off!!
We usually take a picnic and find somewhere nice to sit!!
Changed for dinner, then spa the next morning..

I would arrive at 12 noon for lunch, 2 pm spa, send dh to check in at 4 (I would go direct from spa to the room) and aim to leave the room for drinks and dinner around 6.30-7. I would pay a small bit extra for late checkout and use the spa again next day.

Can you pay for early check in?

Call and ask what time you can access the spa - often it's much earlier than check in. If so, I'd go about 2 and have a couple of hours swim / sauna etc. Take a good book.

Order (or pack!) a bottle of fizz so when you get back to the room, take time relaxing and getting ready for dinner with a drink or two together.

Dinner around 7.30, then either a drink in the hotel bar or a walk in the grounds.

Dh and I would then immediately go to bed and sleep because we miss sleep Grin.

Breakfast and another swim before heading home.

Thank you everyone some great ideas, I have lunch booked in the restaurant for 12 spa at 2 and then after spa dinner and drinks in the bar which is less dressy than the restaurant.
