Location advice

Hello

Name changed for this as I don't want to be identified.

We are looking to move from Scotland to England in the next couple of years and was seeking some location advice. Smile

We are both from the south of England but have lived in Scotland for the past 25 years.

We are looking for a location with easy transport links to the south of England and London area to visit family and also an international airport within a 45 minute drive.

We prefer the countryside round the north of England and would love a large garden or a small area of land in a semi rural/edge of village setting. Our budget will be around 800K for a 3/4 bedroom cottage and we don't have to factor in schools or jobs as long as there is good broadband.

I was looking around the Harrogate/Pately Bridge area but the prices are relatively high for a cottage with a little land. Any other ideas?

Many thanks.

Harrogate to Pateley is quite expensive. Harrogate is a commuter town for Leeds and has very good schools, which puts the price up. Around Ripon might be cheaper - East and West Yorkshire are definitely cheaper. You can get some gorgeous houses there for much less. That said, with £800,000, I would expect you to get something pretty good around Harrogate.

I would buy this one - my friend lives in Littlethorpe - it's gorgeous and walking distance from Ripon town centre: property.mitula.co.uk/detalle/288482/1470135610464559518/15/1/farms-harrogate?search_terms=farms+harrogate&page=1&pos=15&t_sec=1&t_or=2&t_pvid=ee5601cb-fedc-487b-aa34-29bad89d4bf4&req_sgmt=REVTS1RPUDtTRU87U0VSUDs=
