My landlord has sold my house and I've been desperately searching for an alternative to no avail...the rental market is just awful at the moment, 20-30 enquiries for every property and then going before you've even had a chance to view. And so much more expensive that just 2 years ago, viewed a 3 bed that stank of cat piss, holes in the walls, mould on the ceilings and they wanted £750 for it! Another tiny 2 bed which was OK but really shabby for the same.

But I've got something! A friend of my sister's, 4 bed, brand new kitchen and bath, all fully refurbished, in a lovely area and giving me mates rates! I'm so relieved I just needed to share, was so disheartened, thought I'd end up just having to take anything or declaring myself homeless to the council, so it's a weight off that I'm sorted and in a amazing place to boot!

That's great. I hope all goes well with the move and new home.

That’s great news! We were in the same boat as you a couple of years ago, and it was so disheartening. Some of the places I looked at were awful. I saw spongy floors, broken windows, missing bedroom doors, fire-damaged places. It was awful. I work full time, and my partner works full time too, and it was simply awful to realise that was all we could afford for our family. But then, I happened to see a post pop up on a local FB group, and we’ve been here for a couple of years now.
