Strange question about woo carrots...

At the risk of sounding barking: can eating a lot of carrots give you a certain... glow?! I have a work colleague who is into the woo and often comments I have a golden, orangey 'aura'. My question is this: could my daily consumption, on average, of 2 large raw carrots actually be the culprit? Much as I like the idea of having a golden aura (it's the highest level dontcha know), I'm not really woo at all and had heard somewhere about carrot munching = orange tinged skin Grin

P.s I know the carrots aren't actually woo themselves.

Unlikely two a day would be sufficient to cause it health.clevelandclinic.org/can-eating-too-many-carrots-turn-your-skin-orange/

Lol yes consumption of a large number of carrots can give your skin an orangey hue. Not sure if 2 carrots a day is enough to do that (google suggests more like 10 a day for a few weeks)....does your colleague know about your carrot consumption?

Carrot juice can do this.

I knew someone that took tanning pills. You swallow them and they are supposed to make you look brown. He looked a weird orangey colour.

Don’t know if those pills are still legal right enough!

Carrots are supposed to have a positive effect on your skin - my DGM swore by them. I have no idea about the condition of her aura or if she had one even.

Hmm yes looks like I'd need to be eating them by the barrowload to make a difference. I don't use facial fake tan but maybe my foundation needs tweaked Shock

I don't mind having a golden aura, as long as it's not badly matched make up!

There was a drink called Sunny Delight that had beta carotene as a colouring and it did cause a change in some people’s skin colour news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/578945.stm

I’ve been Googling:

Tanning pills and accelerators
Tanning pills contain color additives similar to beta-carotene, the substance that gives carrots their orange color. Once swallowed, the additives are deposited throughout the body, especially the skin, turning it an orange-like color.
