First birthday as a mum?!

My birthday is coming up and first one as a mum with my 8 m/o. But I’ve got no idea how to spend it! It’s on a Saturday this year so will be able to enjoy it with partner too. How did/will you all spend your first birthdays as a mum?

That’s a good question and I cannot for the life of me remember what my first birthday as a mum was like 😂

My dd was about 3 months old when I had my birthday, we went out for a walk and brunch and met my brother and his gf I think? Then dh and I went out with some friends for dinner and I got absolutely shitfaced!! We had left dd with SIL Grin
A long time ago now…
Whatever you do, have a lovely day!

We had a family bereavement so tbh it wasn't great.

We went out for a decent pub lunch for mine! Baby was 6 weeks old

My son was a similar age to yours on my birthday. I spent the day with him and my parents, in-laws etc and then went to the pub with friends and got drunk after two drinks. Perfect night for me (I was 26).

My first birthday as a mom was during lockdown and baby was 3 months old so got a takeaway. 🤣
2nd birthday restrictions had eased a bit so went pub with my friend and got rat arsed off 3 drinks 🤣

DS was 3 weeks old, so probably not much.

I’d recommend a lie in though.

DS was 10 months old. We went to a hotel for 2 nights. Chose somewhere we'd been before and knew the area so it was easy to plan. No cooking or cleaning for 3 days. Bliss!

DD was less than two weeks old. I spent it mostly napping, in a daze, and I think I went to tesco and left her at home with my mum to purchase something. Looking back i should have asked my mum to go to tesco 😂 first Xmas was sooo much better (DD less than a month old, we spent it lying on the sofa eating cheese, chocolates and other delights and watching Xmas tv - just DH, DD and me)

Honestly cleaning up diarrhoea and vomit from both my ex and our DS. Happy 25th birthday to me 😅

Dd was almost one so I think we went to my sisters for a few hours so my nephews could throw me a birthday party and then we went for dinner in a pub. Dh's birthday is a few weeks before mine so by the time mine came she would clap wildly when someone would sing happy birthday which was very funny.

DH took dd to Dmil for the weekend as I had a uni essay to write (I started a Masters 2 months before).
