I nice cozy blanket. I'm a childminder and I always buy my new kids a fleece blanket when they start. So they have their own for naps. They seem to love that.

A fancy night light.

A new toy, or a toy box with their name on it

A little fancy box for them to keep their special things in.

A name plaque for their bedroom door

Bean bag in a fabric she likes? Characters on it?

Galaxyinmypocket · 03/09/2021 21:59

My first thought was a character themed cusion for bedtime.

Some peel and stick wall clings. Butterflies, flowers, space, characters..whatever she is into. She can then put them up herself where she wants them

shouldistop · 03/09/2021 22:04

Yes to a fleecy blanket, maybe with her favourite character on it?

billiebeeme · 03/09/2021 22:05

First thing came to mind was a nice blanket. Maybe her fav character. Teddy with her name on it or soft doll. New pjs and slippers.

My little girl wld have just loved a little box of crafts, colouring pens, sticker book etc. Kinda stuff that home bargains is gd for!

billiebeeme · 03/09/2021 22:06

Oh and maybe bedtime bed wld fo nice with new pjs/slippers.

billiebeeme · 03/09/2021 22:06

I mean book! 🙈

KATismyusername · 03/09/2021 22:06

When we moved house a friend bought my daughter a mini sofa as a housewarming present. She loved it.

cuddly toy

KidsAreMean · 03/09/2021 22:08

I gave my goddaughter a fleece blanket. It was a wearable one with a hood which was an animal face and paws for hands to go in. She loved crawling around in it and sat wearing it whilst watching tv. (I got it from Next)

My DD is a little older but she has a flowering cactus on her bedroom window. Good for us because we don't really have to remember to water it!!

Bedroom door name plaque is a lovely idea, also those sequin cushions that change colour depending on which way you stroke them

Pendhxa · 03/09/2021 22:16

Also a duvet cover with something she likes

Clawdy · 03/09/2021 22:20

A lovely framed picture for her bedroom wall.

Great ideas so far, thanks

Just to check - the 3yo is moving with her family isn't she (ie this isn't an adoption scenario?)

A big part of me thinks she'll just want the stuff from her old house for the familiarity. The new house is enough change as it is.

Mintjulia · 04/09/2021 10:38

Name sign for her bedroom door?

FoodIsOnMyMind · 04/09/2021 10:47

Dd for given a picture for her bedroom wall.
Personally I wouldn't want to have another blanket in the house. We have loads. It's just more stuff to store.

AnyFucker · 04/09/2021 11:41

Yes she is moving with her family. I will give the parents a card and a bottle of something but was thinking about a little token for her too.
