Can you help me plan my trip to Wembley please?

We're off to Wembley on Sunday to watch England play - will be me and 2 children.

We take the train from bishops stortford to Liverpool Street and then the underground.
My issue is food and the times, we have to be there to enter the ground at 3 - 3.30pm and kick off isn't until 5.
My son will be moany if he's hungry 😒 I'm happy to eat before leaving and grabbing a bite to eat near the ground beforehand but don't fancy paying over the odds for greasy chips in the stadium. I'm assuming they will be peckish afterwards and we have a 2 hour journey back to stortford to get our car and then a drive.

Is there anywhere local that you recommend to eat with 2 children, probably before and after the game so different places, one of them will be a snack and the other probably a meal.
Also what time shall we aim to get to Wembley and eat before going into the ground.
The time slot for entering 1.5 hours before the game has thrown me off and I'm in a tizz. I'm usually so organised and have everything planned out. We're allowed a small bag each but they won't carry one so it will be one small bag between 3.
Thanks for any help

There's a Boxpark in Wembley now with loads of choices to eat - the whole area might be a bit rowdy though!

there's a shopping centre immediately opposite Wembley Stadium with Nando's, Zizzi, Pret etc, plus lots of street food outlets at Boxpark. I haven't been to a game since pre-covid but the queues/searches were reasonably efficient.

Yes, go to London Designer Outlet next door - lots of food options. NB, it's just a high street outlet mall there's nothing 'designer' about it at all, just in case the name makes you worry that it's too upmarket to drag kids around!

There's an abundance of choices for food at the shopping centre by the stadium. There's a lovely kids outdoor play area there too if your kids need a run around after your journey.
