Sad news. She was 71 and a top dialect coach (which is how they met). They'd been married for 35 years and had a daughter (and she had a son from an earlier relationship). He's 64, which is young to find himself alone after all that time. Many lovely tributes to her on Twitter from actors she'd worked with.

He always seems like one of the good guys to me. Thinking of him and his family.

So sad.
Did anyone else see the documentary she made about accents a few years back? One of the most interesting things I have ever seen, I was always holding out hope she would make another.

I must look out for that, Countess. Sounds fascinating.

Very sad Sad

I came across that documentary and I found it fascinating too. Also she was wearing such lovely classic clothes. I googled and found that she was R E Grants wife and was hoping she would do more documentaries.

I read his book With Nails years ago, and it was so sad about their daughter Tiffany who was born and died on the same day.

I read the tribute earlier and welled up

How wonderful to love someone as long as that Smile

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 03/09/2021 20:59

I hope the feeling and security of their love for each other is a comfort for him and their daughter. What a wonderful relationship, friendship and marriage.

BlackAlys · 04/09/2021 00:09

Such dignity, love and respect - what a wonderful couple. I'm sorry for Richard and his daughter's loss.

She died from lung cancer, diagnosed 2 days before Christmas. Another lovely tribute to her here from Richard.

I read about this and his tribute to her, so sad to lose a beloved spouse. He comes across as a genuinely lovely man.
