Random quick question - if growth plates are still open does that mean a child is still growing??

Dd15 has a knee injury and during the consultation the Dr said he could on her x ray that her the growth plates were still open. He moved on, but dd asked me this morning if that meant she was still growing (she's already 5'9!)? And I didn't know

My understanding is yes, your DD is still growing. We had the same with DS, doctor had thought he was much older until X-ray showed growth plates were still open. She said it meant he still had growing to do, plates will close when growth has finished.
