Job interview this afternoon, last minute tips welcome

I’m being interviewed for a role in children’s services within a local authority. It’s a support role really, early help based.

I’ve got relevant experience and qualifications. I’m taking copies of my personal statement, have made notes on legislation and policy.

Is there anything else you would suggest? It’s my first interview for a while

Obvious but think through a few tricky situations and what issues they might raise. Then how you think you might handle them (including seeking guidance for supervisor etc!). Your interviewers might ask these type of hypotheticals not necessarily for you to be right always but to assess your approach generally and your ethics in a situation.
This kind of prep will also maybe help with answering eg ‘what do you see as difficult current issues’ or ‘what aspect of the job would you most look forward to if offered the position/most be worried about’. As it is support role it’s really important to balance your knowledge with being open and honest about how much you would be learning and seeking guidance in certain situations.
I’m a lawyer and interview young applicants for pupillage. Those who are over confident are worrying.

Breathe, smile, take your time before answering. Take water in case of dry mouth.

Ask them questions, general ones like about the workplace ethos, team structure, goals for the next year. You will seem keen and can use their answers to shape yours.
