Help with Twitter please?

I am completely out of touch and don't really understand Twitter hashtags. I have an account which is only (rarely) used to read rather than post.

Currently fighting a multinational retailer who is taking forever to refund hundreds they accidentally charged to my bank account. I have tried and tried to escalate past the frontline customer service person but they are holding their line. I want to find another way into the company to get my money back.

How do I use # and @ to create a tweet that will appear on their feed and get their attention?

You find the name of the company’s Twitter handle for @.

So for example if the business was called Boxes and that was their Twitter handle then to tweet them, you’d start your tweet with @Boxes.

You would then use # at the end of the tweet. If you are wanting a professional response I would avoid tags like #scam and rather use #help or #query or #important.

The hashtags wouldn’t really be that important as it’s the @ that will draw the company’s attention as that will land you on their feed as you are tagging them.
