Anyone else waiting an age for a sofa?

I ordered a sofa with dfs on the 13th May.

They estimated delivery w/c 11th October.

They are delivering it Monday between 12 and 5pm apparently.

That's a month early.

I'm both excited and terrified I've got my measurements wrong.

It's been so long.

Ordered May bank holiday with estimated delivery end of Aug which has already been pushed back to end of Sep.
It's been that long I'm nervous that I might not even like it anymore

Good luck. Waited 10 months last year for DFS to deliver the correct sofa . Delivered wrong one three times. Never again...

Not a sofa but I have been waiting since April for delivery of curtains. Apparently the delay is because of covid in India (where the fabric comes from).

18 weeks for a sideboard at present 😵‍💫 I don't understand the reasons behind the delays.

Apparently it's a timber shortage coupled with a hgv driver shortage.

Fortunately bought local, two seater sofa for the kitchen diner area
Bought Saturday last week, free delivery today at a time to suit me.
Also bought a double bed , mattress and bedside cabinet from the same place absolute bargains.

Had the horror of a national chain two years ago took nearly a whole year to sort out not just delivery but repair when it arrived damaged
Couldn't use our lounge for 5 months.
Went local for a carpet, bought last Saturday, fitted yesterday.

Have ordered from Swoon, said 3 to 4 weeks delivery, actual time 3 to 4 days bloody hell need to move things round!

Kind of. Ordered 2 weeks ago due for delivery end of November, in the meantime heard from some acquaintances about same company expediting the delivery by weeks or months so cleared everything out and ordered carpet earlier than originally planned. Now sitting on bean bags and cushions until they arrive whenever that will be. Rather this than have an unexpected rush on.

I work in the industry. (Not for DFS). Unfortunately we are seeing the effects of Brexit and material shortages. Plus staff shortages as upholstery is a bit of a dying trade. Not many school leavers are choosing it as a career.

I am lying on my brand new DFS sofa now, delivered today ad promised. We ordered on 1st June. I was stressing as I'd read so many horror stories but, personally, we can't fault them.

Ordered mine in March was delivered in July

We bought from DFS very recently, a small sofa, chair and a long footstool/ottoman. All
delivered within the 12 weeks we were told when we ordered and we are pleased with the furniture.

I only have two complaints from the whole process:

1. The furniture was originally booked in for delivery a week early. As in the website said furniture was ready on x date, we had the call from the delivery company and it was booked in to arrive on x date +3. We waited in all day and it was a no show. I checked the website and suddenly x date had change to the following week. No call or email to tell us it wasn't coming or anything. Grrr

1. Do not pay the extra money for the super glider feet. they are beyond crap. We paid £50 for what are actually stick plastic discs that you would buy in the pound shop. Ours had all fallen off after 3 days and we have replaced them with good quality felt pads. Am going to ask for a refund for these as they are a blatant rip off.
