Yeat 10. Any school holidays to avoid exam wise?

My ds starts year 10 next week.
I desperately want to go abroad but wouldn't take him out term time.

Just want to check exam wise if any particular holidays to avoid.

It’s be best to check with your DS school to be honest. All schools do their mock exams at different times to suit them and some schools enter students for real exams in year 10. Real exams dates are set by the exam board but the school will be able to give you all that information.

Thank you. I wondered if it was standard

Dd just going into yr 10. We've booked a week in Cornwall next May half term. School do internal exams the week before and we were looking for her to miss the Friday. We're just going to play it by ear I think.

DD is also a new Y10.

We heard from neighbours with children in Y11 that we should avoid Easter, May and October half-terms. It looks like our school has mocks in May/June (they normally have termly exams then anyway) and they even bring in Y11 during the October half-term for mocks and does mocks for Y10s beginning of November.

We plan just one week during the Easter break and only a long weekend in May and October, they do need a break.
