How did everyone's dc get on? First Day back at school

Ds 7 came out with a big smile on his face.He enjoyed it! Started new school year 3.

We’re not back until Monday… going into year1 and wondering how ds will be based on last years trauma!

Both boys relieved to be back I think. They thrive on routine. Ds1 is going into yr6 and he's 2nd oldest in the school so he feels very grand right now. Also loves that he gets to sit on the benches instead of the floor at assembly like all the younger kids.

Also lots of rules relaxed this term. Ks1 and ks2 are still separate but they longer have to stick to their own classes in the playground. Lunch is back in the hall instead of the classroom and they are sharing assemblies again (outside where possible).

Children had a great day, love their new teachers and came out full of enthusiasm. School almost entirely back to normal - just some extra hand washing and a focus on opening windows and doors. I’m trying to ignore the voice in my head that says normal school won’t last over autumn/winter but for now it’s all good.

I'm in a very fortunate position as i work at ds new school so I've stealth checked on him a couple of times
