Feels like it should be simple but my usually quite good at maths brain is t working!

I need to work out owed holiday.

I get 5h of holiday for every 40h worked

I have all my hours worked since last October added up

How to I work out what I would be owed!?

12.5% of your overall hours I think

MadeinBelfast · 02/09/2021 13:55

Divide the total number of hours you've worked by 8.

Longdistance · 02/09/2021 13:56

Would it be an 8th (1/8) of your total hours worked?

I get 5h of holiday for every 40h worked

Or 1h of holiday for every 8h worked. So divide your total hours worked by 8.

Divine by 40, multiply by 5

BarbaraofSeville · 02/09/2021 13:58

Lets see how many different ways this can be done Smile

Multiply the number of hours worked by 5 and divide by 40.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 02/09/2021 13:58

Divide your total hours by 40 then multiply the outcome by 5 (i.e. work out one-eighth or 12.5% of your total hours).

WeatherwaxLives · 02/09/2021 13:58

If it helps you be confident you've got it right then divide your total hours by 40, then multiply that number by 5.

But both methods above also work.
