What dates for your kids' Oct half term?

I'm trying to plan a nationwide half term activity and need to know the dates that half term spans as it varies, UK wide.

When are your kids on hols please?

Nationwide as in just Scotland? You can just go to each council and look it up? If you are asking all UK nations there are hundreds of councils and about half will do one week and half the other because of staggering start times in August & September. Asking a general question on Mumsnet isn't really going to get you a quality result. There's a website called term times if you do a general Google but I'd take that info as a starter and double check individual councils.

Can I piggyback and ask if anyone at all has the previous week (primary age, it would be 19th-23rd?
I am hoping to take DS to Legoland Windsor and I think he has an Inset day on the Friday (23rd) but he has SEN and doesn't cope with crowds - it's OK if there are a few on Inset days but not if it's half term for a good chunk of the country.

We've got 2 weeks as apparently the summer hols are shorter? So DS1 primary school is off the last 2 weeks of October.

There isn't any official staggering of start times like there is in France. All councils make their own rules. I think this year (def not all years) the vast majority have half term last week of Oct.

I live at the point where 3 councils join up and extremely unusually, all three have the same October half term. I've literally never known that to happen in several years (I work across all 3 so would know).

Leicestershire is usually a week before everyone else in England (they went back last week) so I'd expect 18-29th Oct for them. We are two weeks like some others 25 Oct to 5 Nov.

There's 5 LAs within a few miles of where I am. 4 of them are off the last week in October, for one week only.

Then there's one LA seems to have only 3 set days off for both the October and February half terms but then it says there's the 5 inset days and 4 occasional days so I expect some might just go with the convention of a full week off at these times, but they have the option to take them at other times. It does say that some of these days could be used for Eid in early May and early July.

Nottinghamshire does. 2 weeks starting from 19th

Just looked up the 4 local infants/juniors all 25-29 Oct (we're about 30 minutes from legoland)
