Going back to work after mat leave - feeling sad

Can anyone cheer me up and reassure we will all be ok?

I was wfh from March 2020 with dd1 then had dd2 in October. So I’ve been away from the classroom for a long time.

Dd2 is only 10 months and bf, I have barely been away from her as everyone has offered to take her sister to give me a break and not her (also bf)

Childcare is all sorted and I’m only working mornings, but I’m going to miss my babies so much.

I felt really sad just before I went back to work but once I was back it wasn’t as bad as I’d built it up in my head. I think it’s really normal to feel sad before you go back.

I do miss DD but still get to spend quality time with her. Maybe plan a few things to do in the afternoons once you’re back to make yourself feel better?

It’s actually quite nice being back and feeling a bit more like your old self again, not just a mum doing the endless slog of looking after small kids. Plus you won’t be broke anymore, that was a big bonus for me!
