Dd1's looking for something to watch & I vaguely remembered this one catching my attention (I didn't watch more than the one episode I stopped on while flicking through what was on, hence me asking here)

I think it was BBC
Vampire/magical ish
Costumes etc looked quite historical

It wasn’t The Luminaries was it? I watched one episode and gave up, but it was a bit like what you’re describing OP.

My description was totally awful as well I don't tend to watch tv much, just have it on for the noise more than anything.

It’s funny, quite sweary & some of it has a lot of sexual language (one episode is about a vampire orgy!)
My DD (16 now) watched it when she was about 15 but you might just want to watch an episode before you suggest it

I ma thinking the one with the prince and the 'other' type people who had special powers. Loved it but cannot remember what it was called? Two girls and two guys living in a gorgeous vaulted basement and Sherlock Holmes. GRRRRRR! If I remember, I will come back!

I'll have a look for myself before I suggest anything, thanks for the 'heads up' nancy. Some of these suggestions actually look like they'd be up my street so I might have a look then suggest we watch something together.

That one sounds like The Irregulars, HarryDresdens. Dd (16) was into that.
